Dear Kindergarten Families,

We are finally back to a normal week!  I pray you all are back to routine, have power, and are on the mend from any hurricane damage.  You all remain in my prayers!  I feel a lot better now too after being quite sick last week and I so appreciate your well-wishes and prayers for my recovery.  :)

Here this week's announcements:

*Johnny Appleseed Day has been rescheduled for September 26th due to our missed days of school backing us up.  This will be a food party and I will send home a separate sheet with information for you.  You will need to send in your child's favorite "apple" snack.  This can be anything from apples and caramel to apple pie to apple juice.  You need not send in much since we have 19 children and will have plenty of everything to go around.  My room mom and a couple of parent volunteers will be on hand to help out.  :)

*We are continuing to raise money for breast cancer awareness.  All monies collected in chapel service will go towards the purchase of a big "pink bus" that will serve as a mobile mammography site.  Your child may bring in donations on each chapel day from now through October.

*This week in academics, we will learn about the lives of Abraham and Sarah in our Bible lessons.  We will learn about pairs, order, and shapes in math.  We will continue our Author Study for Eric Carle and read "The Little Seed".  We will relate this story to science as we continue to learn about how seeds grow.  We will learn about the importance of friendship in social studies.  Our letters of the week are:  /Ww/, /Xx/, /Yy/, and /Zz/.  Our sight words this week are:  are, at, to.  Our number for the week is 5.

*Show-n-Tell will be any object for the letters of the week.

*As a reminder, our school will be closed on Thursday, September 28th and Friday, September 29th for our annual Educator's conference.

Have a blessed and beautiful week everyone!

Mrs. Tracy :)
