Happy first week of September everyone! Here are this week's announcements:
*There will be a small homework pack to go home today but there will be no sight word list. I will be retesting your children on Friday if they did not pass last week's or the previous week's list. Please use this time this week to study.
*A September calendar went home on Friday. Please check it daily since it has both school and class activities listed.
*Show-n-tell on Friday is letter /Oo/.
*As a reminder, if you plan to volunteer this year at school, you will need to read and sign the volunteer form on our school webpage. If you plan to be in charge of children (i.e., a field trip), you will need a background check. Our first field trip will be in December.
*Please note on the September calendar that our school will be closed on Wednesday, September 26-28th for our annual educator's conference.
In language/reading/phonics this week, we will learning consonant vowel blends for letters /b/, /l/, and /t/. I will send home a practice sheet for these. Please practice them daily as your children will be tested on them in class. They only need to know how to say them. We will have a written phonics test as well. We will be reading stories from Eric Carle this week and doing some fun activities to go with them. We will begin working on story setting and characters. In math, we will work on the numbers 3 and 4 and grouping with these numbers. In social studies, we will learn about community leaders and laws. In Bible, we will review the Creation story and Adam and Eve since it is a short week.
Have a blessed week! :)
