Dear Kindergarten Families:

Here are this week's announcements:

*Our kindergarten/first grade combined chapel is tomorrow. Please be sure to attend. The children have worked very hard on this and we want all families to see their very important message! It begins at 9:00.

*The auction was a great success! Thank you so much to those of you who came out and enjoyed the evening and congratulations to Trevor's family for winning our class gardening basket!

*GRADUATION GOODIES! I need the following items from you for your child's graduation ceremony:

1. A form will go home this week asking how many people you plan on attending. Please send that back as soon as possible.

2. Please choose a Bible verse for Pastor Popp to read to your child at graduation. There will be a space for it on the form I send home.

3. I need a baby picture of your child, along with the age and date on the back. These will be returned to you.

*We are through our sight word list! YAY! I will be sending home a comprehensive list for your child to study. There will be a test on all sight words on May 24th.

*A May calendar will go home tomorrow.

*Remember that robot projects are due next week.

Academics:

This week we will learn about how different children around the world get to their schools. We will discuss how transportation systems work in other countries. We will also begin a very fun new unit on marine animals, starting with dolphins! In math, we will learn how to tell time on the half-hour and how to measure in inches. We will do a STEM activity on Thursday by designing our own pinball machines! We will learn about what an evangelist is in Bible and how Phillip the Evangelist helped an Ethiopian man spread the Good News in Africa. Our memory verse for the week is: Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. James 4:8.

Have a blessed week everyone!
