This week's academics:

In reading this week, we will read a story with lots of rhyming words as we review rhyming patterns.  We will also review story sequencing.  In language, we are learning about sentence structure.  We learned a few weeks ago about the naming part (subject) of a sentence.  This week we will learn about the predicate part of a sentence.  We are working with consonant blends as we begin to read longer words.  Reading is coming along so very well!  I am proud of the fact that many children can read things I write on the board or read words around the room now.  It's like a whole new world has been opened up to them, and it is so wonderful to see their surprise and joy when they read!  Keep up the great work at home!  Math this week will consist of a unit test on tens and ones, addition facts to ten, writing numbers to 30, and patterns.  We will move on to a new unit and begin working with addition in the teen numbers.  Our Bible lesson will focus on the love Jesus had for children during His ministry and the love He still has for us as all of His children now.  In social studies, we learn about Abraham Lincoln and his presidency.  Our sight words for the week are:  one, two, three, four, and five (one is a review word).  Our Bible verse is:  Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me." -Mark 10:14.

Have a wonderful week and may God bless you and your families!

Mrs. Tracy:)
